Job Summary
Prepare and maintain instruments, equipment, and materials for all dental procedures while ensuring patient comfort. Perform four-handed dentistry and dental assisting within state scope, taking and developing radiographs, cleaning and sterilizing instruments per OSHA/WISHA regulations, and maintaining an organized sterilization area. Counsel patients on post-operative care and oral health, ask about medical history, and take blood pressure and pulse. Take impressions for study casts and strictly adhere to Willamette Dental's PPE policy, including N95 respirators. Flexibility to travel to other WD locations as needed based on business requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- credentials to function as a Dental Assistant per state requirements
- Reliable and predictable attendance
- Must possess excellent communication skills
- ability to counsel out patients in post-operative care and general oral health
- demonstrate an understanding of evidence based dentistry
- Holds appropriate credentials per state regulations
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers
Desired Qualifications
- Graduation from an ADA accredited dental assisting program
- an EFDA
- In Idaho – EFDA (Expanded Function Dental Assistant)
- Sealant certification
