Job Summary
Prepare operatories and assist the dentist with dental procedures, take dental/medical histories and radiographs, manage patient files and calls, maintain sterile instruments and supplies, and support quality management in a community health setting. Responsibilities include opening/maintaining clinical environments, maintaining dental supplies, coordinating with Epic EHR, and providing patient oral-care instructions. Relevant skills include x-ray certification, dental assisting experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office, strong communication, and familiarity with FQHC operations. On-the-job training available; compensation varies by experience level and certification (hourly rates range from $18.50-$24.30 depending on credentials).
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Six months of Dental Assisting experience
- X-ray certification, required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs to produce correspondence, documents, presentations, records, and spreadsheets
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with medical office operations, preferred
- Familiarity with FQHCs in the community, preferred
