Job Summary
Assist the dentist chairside with a variety of general dentistry procedures, prepare treatment rooms, and maintain efficient room turnover. Take dental X-rays, assist with clinical documentation, and provide patient care and education while maintaining infection control and sterilization standards. Help keep the clinical schedule running efficiently and collaborate with the dental team to create a positive patient experience, including working with a neighboring specialty team when needed. This role involves approximately 38-40 hours per week across Monday through Friday and two Saturdays per month.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one-year related experience and/or training or the equivalent of a combination of education and experience in the dental profession
- Valid X-ray certificate
- Current license if CDA, RDA, or EFDA (per state requirements)
- CPR & first aid certificate
- FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years of dental assisting experience preferred
- General dentistry experience strongly preferred
- Comfortable working chairside in a busy practice
- Reliable, organized, and team-oriented
- Strong communication and patient-care skills
- Willingness to learn and grow
- Experience with Open Dental, iTero, or CBCT is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person
