Job Summary
Support dental care delivery by assisting providers with procedures allowable under Arizona State Dental Laws, including passing instruments, placing rubber dams, and managing patient impressions. Record treatment plans, code charges, and enter progress notes while preparing patients for appointments, taking blood pressure, and ensuring a no-show rate under 5%. Maintain sterile work areas by cleaning operatories, sterilizing instruments, and stocking supplies to support smooth workflow. Administer emergency procedures, CPR, and Universal Precautions as needed. This role is part of El Rio Health's mission to provide affordable, accessible comprehensive health care through a team of providers and support staff.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D.)
- Certificate of completion from an accredited Dental Assistant Program and/or at least 3 years of chairside dental assisting experience
- Must hold a current Arizona Board-approved certificate in radiology
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers
- Level I fingerprint clearance card: current valid and in good standing or have applied for it within seven working days after beginning employment
- Reliable transportation that can meet any operational reassignments of the organization during the workday
- Valid driver's license (if driving during work hours)
- Compliance with Arizona vehicle insurance requirements
- Must undergo drug testing prior to employment
- Subject to post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return to duty and follow up drug and alcohol testing in compliance with Federal and State regulations for alcohol and controlled substance testing
- Classification as safety sensitive (for positions holding responsibility for the safety and welfare of others)
Desired Qualifications
- One (1) years' work experience as a Dental Assistant
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) with the ability to speak, read and write in both languages
