Job Summary
Ensure excellent patient service by welcoming visitors, preparing them for treatment, and maintaining their comfort throughout the visit. Select and set up instruments, sterilize equipment according to regulations, and assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry. Provide oral hygiene instructions, keep the dental room clean, schedule appointments, maintain accurate records, and assist with payment procedures. Coordinate other office responsibilities as needed while adhering to OSHA and infection control standards. This full-time role at The Center for OMFS of Nutley supports a specialty practice focused on improving patient lives through world-class care.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2+ years of oral surgery experience
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
- Understanding of health & safety regulations
- Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks
- Good computer skills
- Excellent communication and people skills
- A strong attention to detail
- Well-organized and reliable
- A high school diploma
- A certificate from an accredited dental assistant program (if required by law)
- An active state radiology license (if required by law)
- Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to operate standard office equipment
- Must be able to assist patients safely in and out of chairs or treatment areas
- Must be able to maintain clinical positioning for extended periods
- Must be able to work around medical equipment and instruments
- Must be able to adhere to OSHA and infection control standards
- Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements
- Must be able to respond quickly in emergency situations
