Job Summary
Dental Assistant in four-handed dentistry performing chairside patient care, assisting the dentist during a variety of procedures, taking blood pressure, preparing operatory per PPE guidelines, sterilization and instrument handling, charting visits and E&M coding, transcribing documentation to EHR, maintaining inventory, and supporting front desk/treatment coordination. Requires DENTAL x-ray certification, infection control certification, CPR, and knowledge of dental billing and regulations; preferred experience with NextGen or other EHR systems and ability to work with diverse populations. Bilingual capabilities are a plus; role may involve grant-funded arrangements as noted in the posting.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Dental x-ray Certification and experience
- 8 hr. Infection Control Certification
- Dental Practice Act Certification
- Current CPR
Desired Qualifications
- Graduating from dental assistant school is preferred
- Experience with NextGen or other electronic dental record systems required
- Experience with Dental billing
- Experience with Denti-Cal guidelines
- Experience in an FQHC setting
- Bilingual
