Dental Assistant

Job Summary

Teach in the Dental Assisting classroom with 10-20 students, covering clinical and administrative skills by delivering lectures and demonstrations from Ross lesson plans and curriculum. Manage day or evening sessions lasting 4.5 hours as a Primary or Secondary Instructor, stepping in for teaching assistants and substitutes as needed. Maintain student records using current technology while demonstrating professionalism and treating all students equally. This part-time role requires 9-18 hours per week at the Huntsville campus, supporting Ross's mission to train future health care professionals.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years' experience in the field
  • national certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA from AMT) or Certified Dental Assistant (CDA from DANB)
  • formal training in a dental assisting program like Ross
  • Sufficient ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Sufficient visual and auditory ability to operate computer equipment, use telephone, read materials, use whiteboard and use classroom/office equipment
  • Ability to use current technology to maintain student records
  • Ability to communicate effectively in classroom and individual settings
  • Knowledge of materials (subjects) that will be taught to students
  • Ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to achieve or maintain credential and/or licensure within expected time frames
  • Demonstrates professionalism in manner, dress and conduct
  • Ability to remain objective and treat all students equally
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Adhere to Ross Code of Conduct and Professional Ethics
  • Sufficient ability to stand for extended periods of time
