Job Summary
Assist the dentist in rendering patient care chairside while maintaining inventory control in operatories. Adhere to OSHA, HIPAA, and CDC guidelines during procedures. Perform basic lab procedures including taking impressions, pouring models, and preparing cases for external labs. Deliver patient interactions related to scheduling, follow-up treatment, and recordkeeping. Work under the supervision of dentists and collaborate closely with dental hygienists. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Requires a DRT license or willingness to pursue licensure immediately, plus flexibility for evening and weekend shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Applicable licensing required for the state in which you will work: Dental Radiologic Technologist (DRT) license or willing to pursue licensure immediately
- Radiation Health and Safety certificate
- 1+ years work experience as a Dental Assistant
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Requires some flexibility in scheduling, such as the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Knowledge of dental instruments and patient care
- Ability to clearly communicate medical information to professional practitioners and/or the general public
- Excellent organization, prioritization, follow up, analytical and time management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
- Must be able to lift and/or move between 10 and 25 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus
- Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including face masks, gloves, gowns, and more
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant certificate preferred
