Job Summary
Assist dentists and hygienists in direct patient care by resolving minor difficulties, preparing operatories, and performing delegated clinical procedures. Manage sterilization, instrument inventory, and radiograph exposure while maintaining strict infection control and safety protocols. Monitor patient flow, compile supply shortages, and ensure accurate documentation of all records. Maintain equipment per manufacturer directions and handle administrative duties as time permits. Travel when necessary to meet operational needs and participate in health promotion activities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Ability to work with persons from a wide diversity of social, ethnic and economic backgrounds
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to gain knowledge of current practice management system, electronic medical record, Microsoft Word, text paging, Internet, and Intranet
- Current CPR (BLS)
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Desired Qualifications
- Completion of accredited course in dental assisting
- Certified Dental Assistant
- Ability to speak Spanish
