Job Summary
Provide optimal oral care for patients by assisting dental providers in procedures, performing four-handed dentistry, and taking diagnostic X-rays including periapical, bitewing, and panorex images. Maintain inventory levels across supply closets, exam rooms, and instrument drawers while managing oxygen tanks, eye wash units, and lab case management. Execute all sterilization protocols, scrubbing, packing, and spore testing cycles, then pour high-quality study models and run suction cleaners through operatory equipment. Prepare patients for examinations, set up tray configurations, and mix treatment materials while ensuring biofilm elimination on handpieces and air polishers. Complete ten hours of annual continuing education for central service technician duties.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED
- Current NYS Dental Assistant license within two (2) years of Hire
- Certified and Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) within two (2) years of Hire
- Certification from the Certification for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) within two (2) years of Hire
- 1 year Dental Assisting experience
- Excellent communication (both oral and written)
