Job Summary
Provide dental assisting support including preparing operatories for dental treatment, assisting the dentist with procedures (including taking alginate impressions, suctioning, handing instruments, constructing and cementing temporary crowns, packing gingival retraction cord, etc.), taking dental and medical histories and charting, taking and developing radiographs, pouring and trimming models, sterilizing instruments and surfaces between patients, maintaining patient files and records, triaging patient calls, and supporting inventory and equipment upkeep. Responsibilities also include participating in quality management activities, maintaining a clean aseptic clinical environment, and providing patient oral-care instructions following treatments. Requires X-ray certification with on-the-job training options; variable hourly rates based on experience level and certification.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Six months of Dental Assisting experience
- X-ray certification
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs to produce correspondence, documents, presentations, records, and spreadsheets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- FQHCs experience (preferred)
