Dental Assistant - Part Time

Job Summary
Welcome and escort patients from reception to treatment areas, ensuring rooms are stocked and re-ordering inventory as needed. Take and record medical histories and vital signs, document procedures per instructions, and develop diagnostic x-rays. Pour models, fabricate temporary restorations, sterilize instruments, and assist the dentist during procedures while providing oral hygiene education. Notify the office manager of equipment issues or safety concerns and attend morning huddles and chart reviews. Schedule includes Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with part-time availability of 29 hours or less per week. Multiple half-day shifts or fewer full-day shifts are available. Familia Dental offers on-the-job training, so certification is not required, though BLS, CPR, and radiography certificates are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Exceptional customer/patient service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills
- Basic computer knowledge
- Experience with dental management software
- Ability to work in fast paced, patient-focused environment
- Detail oriented
- Able to carry out written and verbal instructions
- Organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Meet state requirements for DA duties, continuing education, or license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate
- Radiography certificate
- Available to work Saturdays, when needed
- 2+ days a week, 29 hours or less per week
