Job Summary
Assist the dentist during patient examinations and treatments by providing diagnostic aid, including radiographs, impressions, and study casts. Perform prophylaxis and fluoride treatments while delivering oral hygiene instructions to children and their parents. Prepare operatories and instruments, apply topical anesthesia as required, and clean and sterilize equipment according to patient flow. Maintain inventory, restock operatories, and manage dental equipment such as autoclaves and x-ray machines. Possess knowledge of medical emergencies to assist in their management. Support front desk staff with scheduling, phone answers, and computer tasks. Assist in screening and education programs. This role is located at the Chipley Dental Clinic, Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm.
Required Qualifications
- Certification of completion of Dental Assistant training
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral
- At least 6 months experience in a dental environment
Desired Qualifications
- At least 2 years experience as a Dental Assistant
- Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA)certification
