Job Summary
Surgical Assistant supporting oral and maxillofacial procedures; responsibilities include assisting surgeons during procedures, preoperative and postoperative patient care, verifying patient identity and surgical sites, maintaining aseptic technique, ensuring an unobstructed operative field, handling suction/retractors/irrigation, preparing and sterilizing instruments, taking dental radiographs, documenting patient narratives, and coordinating necessary equipment and supplies. Requires MA-registered RDA, Massachusetts Dental Radiology Certification, and BLS/CPR; 1+ year surgical or dental assisting preferred. In-office, full-time role based in Burlington or Cambridge, MA with a Monday–Friday schedule. Competitive benefits package offered.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Dentistry
- Dental Radiology Certification (Massachusetts)
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 1 month of hire)
- 1+ year of dental or surgical assisting experience preferred
- DAANCE certification preferred
