Job Summary
Dental Assistant at North Shore Community Health’s Peabody Family Health Center. Works chairside under dental providers to assist in delivering dental services; prepares treatment rooms, assists with instrumentation and radiographs, sterilizes instruments, and ensures infection control. Responsibilities include patient education, documentation, maintenance of dental equipment, scheduling, and providing exemplary customer service. Requires a High School Diploma/GED, Dental Assistant and Radiology Certificate, three years’ experience, and ability to travel to NSCH sites. Bilingual Spanish/Portuguese and English is a plus; vaccines compliance and CPR knowledge are noted as part of the role. Regular hours Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–4:30 PM with Thursday evenings and one Saturday per month; opportunities for care across NSCH sites if needed.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of a High School Diploma/GED
- Dental Assistant and Radiology Certificate required
- Three years’ experience as a dental assistant
- Bilingual in Spanish/Portuguese and English is a plus
- Good working knowledge of dental equipment and terminology, OSHA, and safety compliance
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced dental environment
- Superior customer service skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, professional, and able to multitask.
- Good working knowledge of EPIC/WISDOM.
- Maintains strict adherence to the NSCH Confidentiality policy.
- Ability to be courteous, efficient, effective, and patient in a fast-paced environment
