Job Summary

Receive and prepare patients for treatment, taking digital x-rays to aid diagnosis and charting decay conditions. Place fluoride varnish to prevent oral disease, sterilize instruments, and set up trays while assisting dentists during procedures. Make preliminary impressions for study casts, pour and trim models, fabricate custom trays, and polish removable appliances. Perform sterilization and disinfection in compliance with policy, apply effective communication techniques to diverse patients, and understand insurance guidelines for allowable services.

Required Qualifications

  • Candidates must reside within NorthLakes' service area at the time of hire and maintain residency throughout employment.
  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current dental assisting certification with DANB required.
  • Three or more months related experience or training.
  • Current CPR certification required for all roles.
  • Knowledge of Scope of Practice per Wisconsin Dental Assistant statues.
  • Demonstrate Knowledge of ethics, jurisprudence and patient confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the OSHA Hazard Communication standard.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the OSHA Blood borne Pathogens standard.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention guidelines
  • Understand insurance guidelines for allowable services and treatment frequency.
  • Apply effective communication techniques with a variety of patients.
  • All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check and references.

Desired Qualifications

  • Three months related experience and/or training (for Non-Certified Role).
  • Certification from an accredited agency within 12 months of hire is strongly preferred.
  • Eligible for full credentialing with partnering hospital system.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Time management skills.
