Job Summary
Assist the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry under direct supervision at the Metro Re-entry Facility. Prepare and sterilize dental instruments, maintain the operatory, and operate radiographic equipment while completing administrative tasks as needed. Maintain current tuberculosis screening documentation and active CPR certification, ensuring all security clearances, drug screens, and background checks are current. Requires a Georgia DA license or ability to obtain one, plus completion of a technical school program or six months of experience. Preferred qualifications include expanded duty certification and x-ray experience. Full-time day shift schedule of 32 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or its recognized equivalent
- Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or six months of experience as a dental assistant
- Georgia DA license or ability to obtain license
- Must maintain current tuberculosis screening documentation
- Active CPR certification
- Ability to obtain security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
Desired Qualifications
- Certification as an expanded duty dental assistant
- Certification and/or previous experience performing dental x-rays
