Job Summary
Facilitate positive patient experiences by greeting visitors, collecting health histories, and preparing operatory setups for dental procedures. Assist care providers before, during, and after treatments while completing dental x-rays and submitting billing information. Support the laboratory by pouring study models, maintain instrument inventory, and perform sterile processing as assigned. Provide patient education on oral health care and serve as backup support for front desk staff. Work Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM with occasional shift coverage. Candidates with Expanded Functions Level I training may qualify for higher pay.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of accredited dental assisting program or equivalent training meeting Iowa Dental Board requirements
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn different software and database systems
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented with high degree of accuracy
- Demonstrates professionalism with ability to remain calm in all situations and show empathy
- Current QDA Registration through the Iowa Dental Board
- Mandatory Reporter Training: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse recognized by the Iowa
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers Certification
- Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
- 40 hours per week
Desired Qualifications
- Candidates with Expanded Functions Level I training may be considered for this position and are eligible for a higher pay range
