Job Summary
Assist dentists in providing clinical treatment, care, and education to patients while maintaining accurate documentation of medical histories, consent forms, and procedure charts. Welcome and escort patients through reception and treatment areas, schedule appointments, and present dental treatment plans and financial options in nonclinical terms. Ensure compliance with OSHA laws, infection control standards, and HIPAA regulations by wearing protective barriers, sterilizing instruments, and properly disposing of bio-hazardous waste. Maintain equipment protocols including the evacuation system, hand pieces, and radiograph processors, and notify the Office Manager of any failures or safety concerns. Recognize dental emergencies and respond promptly by notifying staff and emergency medical personnel as necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess strong knowledge and skill of clinical needs
- Working knowledge of back office dental procedures
- Working knowledge of dental administrative functions
- Must have Expanded Duties Certificate
- Must have Radiography Certification
- Must have Expanded Duties Certificate and/or Radiography Certification upon hire or within ninety (90) days after hire
- Active Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification
- Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certificate
- Radiography licensure
- Must be bilingual
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of one-year dental experience preferred
