Job Summary
Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures, set up and breakdown the operatory pre/post treatment, take dental radiographs as prescribed, take intra-oral pictures, scan teeth/full arches for study casts, manage infection control and sterilization, provide post-treatment oral care instructions to patients, teach oral hygiene strategies, take impressions for study casts, help with organization procedures, and monitor/maintain dental equipment (autoclave, units, lights, x-ray machines) per manufacturer guidelines; maintain high standards of patient privacy and ethical conduct; participate in continuing education and training in the dental field.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Radiography certification as per state requirements or willingness to learn and participate in the Radiography certification process
- Ability to perform basic computer functions
- Exceptional communication and patient care skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrable ability to take instructions and responsibility
- Commitment to patient privacy and ethical conduct
- Willingness to participate in continuing education and training in the dental field
