Job Summary
Provide chair-side dental assistance using four-handed dentistry across a broad range of services (diagnostic through orthodontics) and support back-office coordination, patient flow, supply inventory, treatment planning with cost estimates and insurance pre-authorizations, lead and train dental staff as needed, maintain accurate charting in Dentrix/Allscripts, ensure proper sterilization and OSHA compliance, and deliver high-quality customer service while upholding Sea Mar’s mission and patient-centered values.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Formal Dental Assistant program from college/technical institute or equivalent
- 2 years working experience (3 years if no formal training) in Dental Assistant position
- Current Washington State Dental Assisting Registration
- Pass DAIII Competency test and DAIII Clinical Evaluation
- Current BLS CPR within 90 days of hire and maintain
- TB testing annually
- Annual influenza vaccine (or approved exemption)
- Language: English (Spanish bilingual preferred)
- Ability to perform sterilization per OSHA, infection control standards
- Ability to obtain and maintain MSDS records, inventory and equipment maintenance
- Ability to communicate and document treatment plans with patients and staff
