Job Summary
Assist in the delivery of oral health care through standard procedures and fore-handed techniques, including patient preparation and radiographic film exposure using paralleling and bisecting angle techniques. Process films, maintain equipment, and sterilize instruments to ensure an aseptic environment. Obtain, record, and file patient information while managing appointments, billing, and electronic health records. Coordinate unit functions with clinical and administrative staff, report patient status, and adhere to HIPAA regulations. Requires a high school diploma, one year of dental assistant experience, and a certificate of expanded functions. This non-exempt position reports to the dentist with minimal absenteeism expectations.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or GED equivalent
- Dental Assistant training by a certified program
- one (1) year experience as a Dental Assistant
- Certificate of expanded functions
- Certificate of Dental Assistant training
- Certificate of Dental Radio-graph
- current CPR certification from the American Heart Association
- Basic knowledge of dental anatomy
- Basic knowledge of dental materials
- Basic knowledge of dental instruments
- Basic knowledge of dental equipment
- Basic knowledge of dental techniques
- Non-exempt employment classification
