Job Summary
Assist in the delivery of oral health care through standard procedures and fore-handed techniques while completing patient preparation and exposing radio-graphic dental films using paralleling and bisecting angle techniques. Process films, sterilize instruments to maintain an aseptic environment, and maintain equipment. Obtain, record, and file patient information, give appointments, and procure electronic health records to manage unit logs and referrals. Coordinate unit function with administrative and clinical staff, inform providers of patient status, and assist with intake, registration, and billing. Adhere to Confidentiality Policies and HIPAA regulations.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or GED equivalent
- Dental Assistant training by a certified program
- one (1) year experience as a Dental Assistant
- Certificate of expanded functions
- Certificate of Dental Assistant training
- Certificate of Dental Radio-graph
- current CPR certification from the American Heart Association
- Basic knowledge of dental anatomy
- Basic knowledge of dental materials
- Basic knowledge of dental instruments
- Basic knowledge of dental equipment
- Basic knowledge of dental techniques
- Non-exempt employment classification
