Job Summary
Dental Assistant I positions provide chair-side assistance in four-handed dentistry across Diagnostic, Preventive, Restorative, Endodontics, Periodontics, Oral Surgery, Prosthodontic, and Orthodontics; responsibilities include patient transport, greeting and workflow coordination, patient education, charting in Dentrix using S.O.A.P. or P.A.R.T.S., taking blood pressure and vital signs, maintaining OSHA-compliant sterilization, participating in scheduling and front-desk coordination in Dentrix and Allscripts PM, assisting in inventory, and contributing to quality improvement activities; requires a high-school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited dental assisting program, state registration, and completion of required vaccinations and screenings; bilingual English/Spanish preferred; physical requirements include ability to lift up to 50 lbs and travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Formal Dental Assistant program completed at College/Technical Institute or equivalent
- Washington State Registered Dental Assistant (or must obtain and keep current)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR within 90 days of hire and maintained
- TB test annually
- Annual influenza vaccine required (with medical/religious exemptions allowed with accommodations)
- Pre-hire competency test passed at 80% before transfer or hire
- Probationary competency evaluation/test requirements at 60 days and training as outlined
