Job Summary
Provide chairside dental assistance using four-handed dentistry across multiple treatment categories (Diagnostic, Preventative, Restorative, Endodontics, Periodontics, Oral Surgery, Prosthodontic, Orthodontics) and support the dental team with patient escorting, patient education, and timely communication of delays. Maintain charting in Dentrix (S.O.A.P. or PARTS formats), record vital signs, ensure proper sterilization and OSHA compliance, and support inventory and training activities. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and be eligible for probationary competency evaluations with annual re-test requirements. Must meet Sea Mar’s mission-driven standards, while adhering to licensing, infection control, and vaccination requirements. Weekend/shift variability and potential temporary assignments to other dental sites are possible.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completed formal Dental Assistant program
- Registered with Washington State Department of Health (WA State Registration)
- Ability to read and write in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR within 90 days of hire and maintain; annual TB test; annual influenza vaccine
- Knowledge of Dentrix and Allscripts PM or willingness to learn
- Ability to perform sterile technique and OSHA-compliant practices
- Four-handed dentistry proficiency or training
- Ability to communicate with patients and staff effectively
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Travel may be required among clinics
