Job Summary
Prepares operatory instruments and materials, greets patients, and seats them for treatment while assisting dentists with four-handed techniques. Takes intra-oral and extra-oral x-rays, scans films into the EMR, and handles sterilization and disinfection of instruments and objects. Dispenses materials, takes alginate impressions, applies sealants and fluoride, and stocks dental operatories. Documents dental history, patient reactions, and lab procedures using Dentrix, and assists with patient triage for walk-ins and reception duties. Requires current Delaware Assistant Certification and Radiological Technician certification, three to five years of general dentist experience, and ability to work irregular hours in a multi-cultural environment.
Required Qualifications
- Current Delaware Assistant Certification
- Current holds a Delaware certificate as a Radiological Technician, Dental Radiological technician or related certification
- Three to five years experience with a general dentist
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly
- English
- Computer use and proficiency
- Ability to read computer screens, printed materials
- Ability to hear and speech to communicate in person as well as over the phone
- Must be able to attend meetings or make presentations at various sites when required
- Must be able to lift (up to 50 lbs.)
- Walking or standing for more than six (6) hours per day
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual skills preferred (English/Spanish)
