Job Summary
On-call Dental Assistant position in Vancouver-Salmon Creek, WA, supporting a dental clinic within Sea Mar’s FQHC network. Responsibilities include assisting the provider in restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, orthodontics, and oral surgery procedures per WA Dental Practice Act; maintaining MSDS records, conducting spore tests, managing dental supply inventory, and training new staff while organizing schedules and checklists for procedures. Requires WA State dental assistant license/ eligibility, BLS, strong English communication, and experience with dental records; DA II/III levels require formal training and minimum years of experience (6 months for DA II; 2 years for DA III; more for those without formal training). Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Must be willing to work Saturdays. Sea Mar is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Required Qualifications
- WA State license or eligibility for dental assistant
- BLS certification
- proficiency in English (written and spoken)
- preferred bilingual in English/Spanish
- completed formal Dental Assistant program for DA II/III (as applicable)
- experience: 6 months for DA II; 2 years for DA III; 3 years for without formal training
- ability to interpret dental-related materials
- familiarity with dental record-keeping and MSDS
- availability to work Saturdays
