Job Summary
Assist the dental team in providing patient care by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and educating patients on oral hygiene. Support dentists during procedures to ensure smooth workflow and manage appointment scheduling while maintaining accurate patient records. Perform basic dental procedures under the guidance of a licensed dentist. Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, and Texas candidates must meet specific state certification and training requirements for X-ray exposure and CPR. New York applicants are exempt from these state-specific mandates.
Required Qualifications
- Connecticut: certification and proof of formal training to expose X-rays
- Florida: Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification and proof of formal training to expose X-rays (including FDOH Permit to expose X-rays)
- Georgia: CPR Certification, Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification, and proof of formal training to expose X-rays
- Massachusetts: CPR Certification, proof of formal training to expose X-rays, BORID certification and annual CE requirements must be completed per state regulations
- Michigan: evidence of X-ray training certification
- New Jersey: Proof of X-ray training
- Ohio: Proof of formal training to expose X-rays (including FDOH Permit to Expose X-rays)
- Texas: CPR Certification, TSBDE: TX State Board of Dental Examiners
