Job Summary
Assist the dentist and staff in patient care, office, and laboratory duties while ensuring all records are managed timely and consistent with HIPAA regulations. Clean and sterilize instruments, setup trays, take x-rays, and disinfect treatment rooms after each patient, documenting autoclave cycles on tracking sheets. Manage inventory, inform employees of supply needs, and maintain equipment by turning pumps on and off daily. Advise patients on oral hygiene, follow through with post-visit duties, and assist in scheduling follow-up appointments. Confirm treatment rooms are stocked and clean before each appointment. Maintain knowledge of dentistry procedures, infection control, and OSHA guidelines. Work full-time, 40 hours weekly, M-F 8-4:30.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduation or GED
- Demonstrate knowledge of dentistry procedures
- Demonstrate knowledge of clinic infection control procedures
- Experience with the use of dental care devices and equipment
- Keep abreast of OSHA and follow guidelines
- Vision must be correctable to 20/20
- Hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contacts
- Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, telephone, copier, dictation recorder, and such other office equipment as necessary
