Job Summary
Assist dentists during patient examinations and treatments, including operative and surgical cases. Prepare patients for procedures, mix restorative materials, and sterilize instruments. Take and develop radiographs, make up dental charts, and answer telephone inquiries to schedule appointments. Perform dental laboratory work as required. Maintain dental records and adhere to dental care practices and terminology. This role supports the dental team in providing direct patient care under direct supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma including or supplemented by a satisfactory course in dental assisting
- Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and one (1) year of experience in a dental office which included assisting a dentist in patient treatment
- An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B)
