Job Summary
Expanded Functions Dental Assistant responsible for supporting dentists and the DA office team: assist doctors during procedures, manage operatory setup and turnover, perform sterilization, take dental radiographs, educate patients on oral hygiene, assist with denture relines and temporary crowns, monitor and aid in lab cases, perform intraoral health scans, and handle supplies and office tasks. Must train others on handoffs, ensure OSHA/HIPAA compliance, and maintain certifications and CE requirements. Experience with four-handed dentistry, chairside assistance, and expanded-function procedures is required.
Required Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant License, Registration, Certification as required by state.
- Radiology (x-ray) certification as required by state.
- Current CPR or BLS certificate.
- 2+ years' experience as a Dental Assistant.
- Proficient at chairside assisting/four-handed dentistry.
- Demonstrate and provide instruction on proper sterilization and infection control techniques.
- Maintain and update annual CE requirement as specified by state.
- State Certification in expanded functions as required by state.
