Job Summary
As an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant, you will support the dentist and office team to maintain efficient patient flow, assist doctors during a variety of treatment procedures, and care for operatory setup and sterilization. Responsibilities include breakdown of operatory rooms, sterilization of equipment, waterline testing, autoclave and compressor maintenance, patient charting support, training others on patient handoffs, HIPAA and OSHA compliance, taking dental radiographs (X-rays), providing post-treatment oral care instructions, denture relines and temporary crowns, assisting with laboratory cases, performing intraoral health scans, understanding clear aligner processes, impression taking, bite registrations, and performing additional expanded functions per certification. You will also manage supplies, emergency kits, oxygen tanks, and CE requirements. Requires 2+ years' experience as a Dental Assistant, current state license/registration/certification, state radiology certification, and CPR/BLS, with a focus on infection control and four-handed dentistry.
Required Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant License, Registration, Certification as required by state
- Radiology (x-ray) certification as required by state
- Current CPR or BLS certificate
- 2+ years' experience as a Dental Assistant
- Proficient at chairside assisting/four-handed dentistry
- Demonstrate and provide instruction on proper sterilization and infection control techniques
- Maintain and update annual CE requirement as specified by state
- State Certification in expanded functions as required by state
