Job Summary
Assist doctors during treatment procedures, perform chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry, and manage operatory room setup and breakdown. Take dental radiographs, complete denture soft relines, manufacture temporary crowns, and perform quality intraoral health scans. Educate patients on oral hygiene strategies, provide post-treatment instructions, and support patient charting. Monitor and aid laboratory case management, maintain emergency kits, and ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and sterilization protocols. Order supplies in accordance with the practice budget and perform additional expanded functions based on certification.
Required Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant License, Registration, Certification as required by state
- Radiology (x-ray) certification as required by state
- Current CPR or BLS certificate
- 2+ years' experience as a Dental Assistant
- Proficient at chairside assisting/four-handed dentistry
- Demonstrate and provide instruction on proper sterilization and infection control techniques
- Maintain and update annual CE requirement as specified by state
- State Certification in expanded functions as required by state
