Job Summary
Expanded Functions Dental Assistant provides chairside assistance, sterilization, radiographs, patient education, and supports the doctors with a variety of procedures. Responsibilities include assisting with directing the DA office team to maintain patient flow, breaking down operatory rooms, completing sterilization, maintaining equipment and supply orders, charting, training others on patient handoffs, following OSHA/HIPAA guidelines, taking dental radiographs, educating patients on oral hygiene, completing denture relines and temporary crowns, aiding in laboratory cases, performing intraoral health scans, and applying expanded functions per state certification.
Required Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant License, Registration, Certification as required by state
- Radiology (x-ray) certification as required by state
- Current CPR or BLS certificate
- 2+ years' experience as a Dental Assistant
- Proficient at chairside assisting/four-handed dentistry
- Demonstrate and provide instruction on proper sterilization and infection control techniques
- Maintain and update annual CE requirement as specified by state
- State Certification in expanded functions as required by state
