Job Summary
Dental Assistant position at Idaho State Correctional Institution in Kuna, ID. Works under supervision assisting Dentist/Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting, including instrument sterilization, operatory prep, radiographic work, and related admin tasks. Full-time, 4 10-hour days (Tue-Fri), benefits package included. Requires high school diploma/equivalent, dental assisting program or 6 months experience, Idaho DA license or ability to obtain, expanded duty certification preferred (must obtain within first year if not possessed), radiography certification preferred, tuberculosis screening and CPR current, ability to obtain security clearance (drug screen and background check).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or its recognized equivalent
- Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or six months of experience as a dental assistant required
- Idaho DA license or ability to obtain license
- Certification as an expanded duty dental assistant preferred; if the candidate does not possess a current certificate, one must be obtained in the first year of employment
- Certification and/or previous experience performing dental x-rays preferred
- Must maintain current tuberculosis screening documentation and active CPR certification
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
