Job Summary
Assist the dentist during procedures, seat and discharge patients, and prepare set-ups while ensuring patient comfort. Take x-rays and impressions, construct and seat temporaries, pour dental models, and assist the dental hygienist as necessary. Document clinical activities in dental records, clean and sterilize instruments, and maintain cleanliness of the work lab including lab pans and stone bins. Participate in the development and audit of protocols and services. This part-time role is shared between Orleans Dental Center and Northern Counties Dental Center, supporting smooth patient flow and effective care delivery. You will meet productivity standards set by your supervisor and NCHC Division protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Physically able to assist patients, stand/walk for long periods, lift up to 25 lbs
- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Must be able to work under stress and around bodily fluids
- Must conduct oneself ethically and report any possible violations
Desired Qualifications
- Provider level CPR/BLS certification (preferred)
- Completion of certificated Dental Radiography course (preferred)
- One year of experience in a dental practice setting (preferred)
- Proficient in computer skills, including EMR, email, spreadsheets, and document processing (preferred)
