Job Summary
Perform four-handed dentistry, explain treatment plans and costs to patients, and maintain set-up and break-down procedures for each encounter. Complete instrument sterilization, manage clinic inventory, assist in ordering supplies, and perform radiographs while adhering to infection control policies. Carry equipment weighing approximately 40 pounds and stand for extended periods while utilizing expanded duties per Idaho State Board of Dentistry certification. Requires considerable manual dexterity, mobility, and proficiency in endodontic, oral surgery, crown and bridge, and prosthetic dentistry. Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Considerable manual dexterity to pass instruments to the dentist
- Sufficient mobility to perform assigned essential duties
- Willingness and ability to perform all dental assisting duties as described in the Idaho State Board of Dentistry Dental Assistant Practice
- Ability to carry equipment weighing approximately 40 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Knowledge and training in general dental assisting duties
- Knowledge and training in endodontic dentistry
- Knowledge and training in oral surgery
- Knowledge and training in crown and bridge
- Knowledge and training in prosthetic dentistry
- Ability to work with the public
- Good communication skills
- Expanded Functions Certification
- Flexibility to work with different providers/locations proficiently
- Graduated from a Dental Assistant Program or comparable training and experience
