Job Summary
Provide instruments and materials to the dentist during exams and procedures to maintain patient comfort and efficiency. Assist with dental and medical emergencies per OSHA and office protocols, including chair-side support during nitrous oxide administration. Instruct patients on oral hygiene, take and record medical histories and vital signs, and make preliminary impressions for study casts. Clean removable appliances, expose diagnostic x-rays, and record treatment information in patient records. Represent the practice professionally while maintaining regular attendance and handling multiple task assignments independently or within a team.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum lifting requirements of 35 pounds in order to transfer equipment and pack and unpack supplies
- Frequent bending, twisting, and position changes in order to examine and service patients
- Must always represent the practice in a professional, pleasant, and cooperative manner
- Must maintain regular, consistent and punctual attendance in accordance with assigned schedule and time off policies
- Must be able to comfortably and efficiently handle multiple deadlines and task assignments
- Must be able to work both independently and cooperatively in team settings
Desired Qualifications
- Prior dental assisting experienced preferred
- A team-player mindset with the ability to stay calm and efficient in a fast-paced setting
- Strong communication skills with a warm, patient-focused approach
