Job Summary
Assist the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry under direct supervision in a correctional setting. Prepare and sterilize dental instruments, maintain the operatory, and operate radiographic equipment while completing administrative tasks. Requires a high school diploma, dental assisting technical school completion or six months of experience, and a Georgia Dental Assistant license. Candidates must maintain TB screening, CPR certification, and obtain a security clearance, with expanded duty certification preferred. Full-time day shift from 6 AM to 4:30 PM.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or its recognized equivalent
- Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or six months of experience as a dental assistant
- Georgia DA license or ability to obtain license
- Must maintain current tuberculosis screening documentation
- Active CPR certification
- Ability to obtain security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
Desired Qualifications
- Certification as an expanded duty dental assistant
- Certification and/or previous experience performing dental x-rays
