Job Summary
Prepare patients for dental treatment and assist the dentist chairside during examinations and procedures. Maintain infection control standards by sterilizing instruments, setting up operatories, and processing dental X-rays. Collect patient histories, record vital signs, and educate patients on oral hygiene and plaque control. Provide post-operative instructions, manage medical emergencies, and form preliminary impressions when permitted. Protect dental equipment, order supplies, and ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and safety standards. This role supports efficient clinical workflows at a pediatric dental specialist focused on delivering high-quality patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Active RDA certification or license (requirements vary by state)
- Strong understanding of dental terminology and clinical procedures
