Job Summary
Dental Assistant position supports dentists and hygienists in delivering primary care dental services at the clinic or mobile unit; responsibilities include sterilization, preparation and inventory control of dental instruments, and maintaining infection control across patient care areas. Must have a High School diploma or GED, have completed the Dental Practice Act course, and hold relevant dental assisting and X-ray coursework; BLS certification required; CA driver’s license required for mobile units; background clearance may be required for mobile units. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Compensation is $25.00 per hour with potential discretionary bonuses; AltaMed offers benefits such as health insurance, 403(b), paid time off, CME days, and other programs.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED certificate required
- Successful completion of a board-approved course in the Dental Practice Act
- Completion of an accredited course in dental assisting is preferred
- Coronal Polishing Certification
- Completion of an accredited course in dental assisting
- Successful completion of a board-approved course in X-Ray
- infection control required
- A valid BLS certification or higher (AHA or American Red Cross guidelines)
- Valid CA Driver's License if assigned to Mobile Units is required
- Successful completion of background DOJ/FBI clearance within 30 days of hire if assigned to Mobile Units
