Job Summary
Prepare and sterilize dental instruments, maintain the operatory, and operate radiographic equipment while working under direct supervision in chairside dentistry within a correctional setting. Perform administrative tasks as needed. Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm. Requires a high school diploma, dental assisting technical school completion or six months of experience, an active license, and current PPD documentation and CPR certification. Security clearance, drug screen, and criminal background check required. Expanded duty certification preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or six (6) months of experience as a Dental Assistant
- Active Dental Assistant license
- Must show/obtain current Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) documentation for tuberculosis screening
- Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
Desired Qualifications
- Certification as an expanded duty dental assistant
- Certification and/or previous experience performing dental x-rays
