Job Summary
Dental Assistant needed at Crossroads Correctional Center in Cameron, MO. Full-time role assisting the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry within a correctional setting; duties include preparing and sterilizing dental instruments, maintaining the operatory, operating radiographic equipment, and performing administrative tasks as needed. Requires a high school diploma or recognized equivalent; completion of a dental assisting program or six months of experience preferred. Missouri DA license or ability to obtain license preferred; expanded-duty dental assistant certification preferred (first-year certificate required if not currently held); radiographic/X-ray certification preferred. Must maintain TB screening documentation and CPR/BLS certification; ability to obtain security clearance (drug screen and criminal background check). Shift: Monday–Friday, Days, 8:00am–4:30pm. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or recognized equivalent
- Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or six months of experience as a dental assistant
- Missouri DA license or ability to obtain license preferred
- Certification as an expanded duty dental assistant preferred; if the candidate does not possess a current certificate, one must be obtained in the first year of employment
- Certification and/or previous experience performing dental x-rays preferred
- Must maintain current tuberculosis screening documentation and active CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
