Job Summary
Full-time Dental Assistant to support chairside dentistry under direct supervision in a correctional setting; assists Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist, prepares and sterilizes dental instruments, maintains the dental operatory, operates radiographic equipment, and performs related administrative tasks. Requires high school diploma or GED, completion of a dental assisting program or 12 months of experience, CDA/Expanded Duty certification or the ability to obtain within 6 months, Florida Radiograph Certificate (or ability to obtain), CPR certification (or ability to obtain), PPD documentation preferred or willing to obtain, and ability to pass security clearance and background checks. Shift is 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday; benefits include health/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), paid time off, holidays, and more.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or 12 months of experience as a Dental Assistant
- Certified Dental Assistant license and/or Expanded Dental Assistant Certificate or ability to obtain one within first 6 months of employment
- Florida Radiograph Certificate, or ability to obtain within first 6 months of employment
- Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) documentation preferred, or willing to obtain one upon hire
- Certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or willing to obtain one upon hire
- Ability to pass a security clearance, to include drug screen and complete criminal background check
