Job Summary

Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials; serve as chair-side assistant to dentists and hygienists; expose and develop dental radiographs; perform delegated clinical procedures; maintain equipment and ensure sterility of reusable instruments; manage inventory, compile shortage lists, and monitor patient flow; pull and file patient charts; answer patient questions and direct them as authorized; receive and place necessary telephone calls. Maintain all areas in compliance with infection control, exposure control, and safety protocols; ensure proper disposal of contaminated materials; and participate in health promotion activities. Adhere to HIPAA regulations, Quality Assurance and Compliance Practices, and all federal, state, and center rules. Full-time position requiring Edda Certification, X-ray certification, and ability to work under stressful conditions with irregular hours.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Completion of accredited course in dental assisting required Edda Certification
  • Up to date X-ray Certifications
  • Ability to attend to multiple tasks at the same time and to prioritize assignments and responsibilities to ensure compliance with established deadlines and protocols
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in English
  • Not currently listed as excluded or sanctioned by the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General (OIG), the General Services Administration (GSA), or excluded from participation in any federal program
  • Agrees to promptly notify supervisor in the event of any such debarment, exclusion, conviction, threat or indictment occurring during the term of employment
  • Must adhere to all practices specified in the Employee Handbook and Agency Operating Procedures
  • Requires cooperation with the Agencys Quality Assurance and Improvement Program
  • Includes actively participating in all required trainings
  • Requires cooperation with the Agencys Compliance Practices
  • Includes immediately reporting issues
