Job Summary
Dena'ina Language Coach collaborates with the Dena'ina Language Institute and Culture Center to coordinate and co-instruct language and culture classes across Tribal Programs and community partners, lead language work, monitor instruction, ensure cultural overlay in curriculum, develop instructor materials and rubrics, train staff in Dena'ina Language for All methods, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and tribal policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent Dena'ina cultural and language experience may substitute for a degree
- Three (3) years' teaching youth
- Two (2) years' teaching adults
- Dena'ina cultural practices and traditions
- Dena'ina language and literacy
- Valid Alaska State Driver license and must remain insurable under the Tribe's policy, or obtain within ninety (90) days
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification or be obtained within thirty (30) days
