Job Summary
Remote Charge Entry Specialist responsible for data entry of anesthesia demographics and charges into the patient accounting system, verification of documents, and coding reviews (CPT/ICD-10/ASA/HCPCS). Duties include creating charge batches, entering demographics, running eligibility checks, correcting errors, reviewing anesthesia records, and assisting the Collections Department. Targets include entering 150+ charge tickets per day within 90 days, ensuring compliance and confidentiality, and performing miscellaneous duties as assigned. Requires high school graduate or equivalent and at least two years in a healthcare business office; knowledge of anesthesia billing and Medicare/Medicaid rules; proficient data entry and MS Word/Excel; strong communication and independent work capability. Remote from AZ, TX, TN, NH, or NC.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Minimum of two years' experience in a healthcare business office
- Knowledge of anesthesia billing specialty
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, ASA and HCPCS coding
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and Workers Compensation rules and regulations
- Skill in keyboarding/data entry
- Knowledge of organization policies, procedures and systems
- Skill in computer applications including MS Word, MS Excel
- Skill in verbal and written communication
- Skill in gathering and reporting information
- Ability to work effectively with staff, physicians and external customers
- Must have a pleasant disposition and be a team player
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
