Job Summary

Greet guests entering the Old Friends Club and maintain a welcoming, safe environment while planning and implementing daily activities for adults with early-stage dementia. Assist with leading sessions including morning coffee, brain games, art, music, and crafts, then help prepare, serve, and clean up lunch. Support volunteers and ensure the club space remains clean with floors swept daily and supplies organized. This role contributes to a safe, engaging program environment that enhances quality of life through meaningful socialization and provides reliable respite for caregivers.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year working with individuals with dementia or other cognitive and/or physical disabilities
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Pass a Washington State Patrol background check
  • CPR/1st Aid/AED certification within 60 days of hire
  • Food Handler's Permit (on-line) within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for periods of time

Desired Qualifications

  • Certified Nursing Assistant or equivalent experience
  • Experience leading activities, such as art, music, games, etc.
  • Advanced communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm and patient under stressful conditions
  • Experience working with seniors
