Job Summary
Manage and maintain the DeltaV system to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and compliance with site protocols and GMP standards. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime. Perform system updates, including software upgrades, user account management, and configuration of servers and switches. Develop control logic and graphics to meet evolving operational requirements while implementing cybersecurity measures and alarm management strategies. Participate in project planning for upgrades, expansions, and new installations, collaborating with vendors and internal teams. Maintain detailed documentation of configurations and changes, supporting audits and delivering training materials to operators. Work on-site at a large-scale biopharmaceutical facility in Cork with a willingness to be on-call for system support outside normal hours.
Required Qualifications
- 3rd level Degree in Engineering or similar, or relevant work experience
- Emerson DeltaV System Administration certification
- 3+ years' experience with DeltaV DCS in a process automation life science manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in Emerson DeltaV configuration, administration and troubleshooting
- Good understanding of control system architectures, field instrumentation and industrial communication protocols (e.g., HART, Foundation Fieldbus, OPC and Modbus)
- Technical proficiency in areas such as Windows Server administration, cybersecurity best practices, network configurations and database management
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to be on-call for system support outside of normal working hours
Desired Qualifications
- Emerson DeltaV Certification in Emerson HCI and virtualisation
