Job Summary
Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and other assigned areas while sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting floors and surfaces. Empty trash receptacles, replenish custodial supplies, and clean windows, doors, walls, and fixtures. Operate cleaning equipment safely and assist with setting up or breaking down facilities for special events and meetings. Perform minor maintenance tasks and report concerns regarding maintenance, safety hazards, vandalism, or security issues. Ensure school buildings and grounds remain safe, orderly, and presentable by following all district safety procedures and cleaning protocols. Work a late afternoon to early evening shift with hours discussed during the interview.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, and the public
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and carry
- Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Operate cleaning equipment and use custodial supplies safely
- Perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday
- Must be willing and able to work a late afternoon to early evening shift
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous custodial, janitorial, maintenance, or related experience
